Events/Festivals
Throughout the year the Aliso Niguel Theatre Company will take part in a variety of events and festivals. Some events we don't participate in every year, however we have attended all in the past and anticipate to attend them in the future. On this page you can learn all about the California State Thespian Festival, JRay's, Cappies Gala, and Ceta Festival!
Cali State Thespian Festival
In March, Fullerton Junior College puts on a festival for local High Schools to celebrate theatre through musical scenes, monologues, theatre games, tech olympics, scenes, and theatrical design. This 2 day festival is a competition full of fun, games, and laughter! This is always a highlight for our students
Cappies Gala
Cappies Gala is an event that occurs in May to celebrate theatre from a variety of high schools in Southern California. This event is unique in that the critics whom attend our fall and spring productions are high school theatre students. This event is put on primarily by students, where awards are given and many school have the chance to perform from their play or musical!
JRAY's
JRAY's is the John Raitt Awards For Youth which takes place in May. Critics will attend our Spring musical, along with the other participating high school's musicals, in order to select awards. This event brings high schools from all across Southern California to perform, receive awards, and celebrate theatre!
Ceta Festival
Ceta Festival is a 2-day event that celebrates Plays from high schools across Southern California! Adjudicators will attend our fall play prior to the festival. During this event, students will view (or perform) 4 different full length plays from 4 different participating high schools. They will also be able to watch scenes, monologues, films, and even attend a few workshops! This is always a super fun weekend event for our students!
